And the cover is on!

9th January 2022

‘It’ll just take one person each end, then you can just walk the cover over…’ was the advice I was given by the gentleman at First Tunnels. He wasn’t wrong, the plastic floated over beautifully, but what I didn’t ask him about was how difficult it was going to be to get all of the plastic secure & tight. Anyway, it’s all sorted now and with the drainage system going in in the next week or so, the plan is that everything should soon start to become less muddy & much easier to work in.

The top soil & compost has also arrived - all 20 tonnes of it - so we need to get on and fill the raised beds so that the planting can begin as soon as it’s warm enough.

Plans are also afoot for 2 large fruit cages, an orchard, a heated propagation nursery & a more organised compost heap! Who says there’s nothing to do in a garden in the winter?
