Jon Howe - Chef Patron
After studying at Bath College, Jon trained under some of the finest Michelin starred chefs in the country. He has also competed with great success in several international competitions with the British Culinary Team. When he’s not in our kitchen he can often be found either up at the farm, trout fishing or out walking the dogs.
Jon’s menus demonstrate his own style of British cuisine, wherever possible using produce sourced from our family farm or from his network of trusted suppliers which he has curated over the past 20 years, to showcase his broad culinary training and skilful creativity.
Helen Howe - General Manager
Helen has worked in hospitality from a young age, always loving meeting new people & looking after them. After training as a Biomedical Scientist and working for the NHS for 10 years, Helen came across the Lumiere property for sale & thought it the perfect time for her & Jon to fulfil their dreams of running their own restaurant together.
Helen’s warm, friendly style of service makes it feel as if she were welcoming each and every customer into her home (which indeed she is - her and Jon live upstairs). With a huge passion & knowledge for food and wine she makes everyone feel at ease as she leads them through their Lumiere experience with a warm smile and open arms.
Matthew Dickinson - Restaurant Manager
‘Sports mad, whisk(e)y drinker - easily killed with a peanut’. Matthew trained as a hotel manager on the Isle of Mull before returning to his university stomping ground of Cheltenham & joining the Lumiere team. Matthew’s passion for his job shines through as he excels in guiding our customers around the menus & enriching their drinking experience. Matthew is currently studying for his Level 3 sommelier exams and is also a qualified FA football referee.
